Faithful

 Good morning. I am so glad that we serve a faithful God, that wakes us up every morning. Of course, what I do after I wake up is up to me. Today I took a shower, got dressed, had coffee and read my bible. 

Friends

 It is great to have friends and Christian friends are the best.

Gifts

  "There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.  There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.  There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work." 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Merry Christmas

 

                                   Merry Christmas everyone.

Christmas Eve

 It's Christmas eve. The night before our savior was born. Some churches have Christmas Eve services. I remember one of the churches I went to had one every year in Michigan. I am not sure if we are having a church come in here tonight at the assisted living and do a service or not.

Good News

 "You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all." Acts 10:36

Christmas will be here in a couple of days. I have already received many gifts which I cannot open until Christmas. I did receive some gifts I could open early. A puzzle and a bedspread from one of my friends and a picture from one of the churches here in town. A child painted the picture, and I put it on my wall.

Home for Christmas

I was wondering what it would like to be home for Christmas, and I remembered that I am home. Okay it's not with my family but I am with many friends here at the assisted living that I call home.  Picture by Tricia Robinson

 

Good News

Good morning. Only one more week until Christmas. Praise The Lord. We had our Christmas party yesterday here at the Assisted Living. It was a little bit different than what I expected but it was fun.

Love

  “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

During this Christmas, be sure to reach out and care for those in need. Some people just need to see a smiling face or hear a "hello". If your church or school has a Christmas program or service, invite someone. Just some ways to reach out.

Grace

Good morning

 I try to start my day out with prayer and reading my bible. Washing up, getting dressed and having coffee is in there too.

"Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

Praise The Lord

Pray

 We need to pray for others and ourselves every day.                         God hears our prayers.

The joy of Christmas

Christmas is a busy and joyful time of year. The time when we celebrate the birth of our savior and Lord. It's also the time when we buy gifts for family and friends. Which is great too. The greatest gift is Jesus. God's gift to us.

Good Morning

Plans

We all have plans but God has better plans for us.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

God is with us

 Yes, God is always with us. He has given us The Holy Ghost.

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26 KJV

The Lord is near

 Yes, the Lord is always near to those of us who love him and believe in him. He speaks to us through his word the bible and through sermons from our pastor.

Our healer

 Yes, The Lord is our healer. Right now I am in a wheelchair because I have problems with my legs. The Lord is healing me and making me stronger. I can use a walker now if someone goes behind me with a gate belt so I won't fall. I am able to get in and out of bed and use the restroom the proper way. I have a bedrail and a bathroom rail that help me. Got to love modern technology.

Don't be afraid

 There is no need to be afraid. The Lord will help you. How does the Lord help? Through His word The Bible, through prayer, and help from others. God does not fail.

God cares

Yes, God cares for all of us.

How much does he care for us and love us?

 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
 

Not like the world

 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2

Plans

 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Yes, God has good plans for you and for me. For all of his children.

Worship

 "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24

Yes, today is Sunday. The day people go to church to worship The Lord. Church can be a large building or just a few people. It is where people meet for worship. I live in an assisted living facility. Sometimes we have church here. Often, I watch and listen to my church back in Michigan Pentecostals of Traverse City on my laptop or phone.

Good morning. Something happened to my other website. All the pictures and words got really tiny and I cannot fix it. The rest of my stuff is fine just that site is a mess.

Wait on The Lord

 God will answer our prayers. We just need to wait. I tried doing a blog at my other site but somehow it messed up and did not post right on my social media site.

Love has no fear

  "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." 1John 4:18

That's right there is no fear in love. When you love someone, you should not have to be afraid of them. When I was growing up I had respect for my parents and knew if I did something wrong that I would be corrected, but I was not afraid of them. I respected them and behaved out of love.

On your side

 "He said to them, “Is not the Lord your God with you? And has he not granted you rest on every side? For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hands, and the land is subject to the Lord and to his people." 1Chronicles 22:18

Yes. The Lord is our side at all times.

Modesty

  "I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,  but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God." 1Timothy 2:9-10

Loving Kindness

The Lord is so loving and so kind. His children take refuge in him. I am a child of God, so I take refuge in him by praying and reading the Bible and going to church. Yes, and writing in this blog.
 

Plans

 God's plans are much better than my plans. It was God's plan for my friend Dolly to visit me, pray for me and bring me gifts yesterday. It was great seeing her.

Joy

 "May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests." Psalm 20:5

We all need joy in our lives. Joy comes from knowing The Lord.

Children of God

 "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him." 1John 3:1

Those of us who are Christians are called "The children of God".

Faithful

"God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." 1Corinthians 1:9

 

Love

  "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1Corinthians 13:4-7

There was a great service at Pentecostals of Traverse City yesterday. Two people got baptized and one received the Holy Ghost. I still have trouble with the church's name. When lived in Traverse City many years ago it was called "Greater Life". Yes, I still want to call it that.

Autumn

  "Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.” Acts 14:17

Yes, The Lord is the same in all seasons.

Blessings

"Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence." Psalm 21:6

I am so thankful for the blessings The Lord has given to me.

 

Spiritual Gifts

"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.  To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,  to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines." 1Corinthians 12:7-11

 

Amazing Grace

Courage

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

The Lord will give us the courage we need.

 

Modesty

Yes, this is for me. I know I am supposed to wear skirts because it is modest, but I like my jeans, and I don't have to worry about them getting caught in the wheels of my wheelchair. 

No Fear

A New Day

 "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

Thank you, Lord for the new day and your everlasting love and mercies.
